I’ve been given advice from so many people in regards to the job hunt that my mind is spinning. I have had people tell me to do everything from showing up at the office with coffee and donuts (how Canadian, eh!), continuous calling until you get somewhere, and of course positive thinking and maybe a little prayer.
So where do you draw the line between persistent ambition and overzealous annoyance??
(I added the Glee picture since I’m old and not everyone will know who Tracy Flick is)
I decided to check out ‘The Runaway’s” on Friday night, I wasn’t expecting too much from the movie but I figured the music would make it worthwhile. I was right about the music, it didn’t disappoint plus there was some great fashion moments. Overall I’d say the movie is worth checking out but I’d wait for it on dvd. The story is interesting but it felt as if it had been highly censored.
A while ago my old roommate, Darah, recommended trying Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution. This has been one of the best cookbooks I’ve tried so far. The book is really well illustrated with pictures of every recipe including shots of the steps involved. So far Adam and I have made about 15 of the recipes and they have all been delicious, my favourite so far is the Beef and Ale Stew. The one thing I most warn you about is you will need to have your laptop nearby so you can look up some of the British-isms.
I heard a rumor the other day that they may be making a movie based on Kurt Cobains life. Adam and I got to talking about it and I believe he has made a great suggestion on who should be cast in the iconic role, check it out at averageadam.com
Have you ever had something happen that you’re so excited about that you decide not to tell anyone until it is 100% guaranteed only to crack and tell everyone you see?
I don’t consider myself to be a superstitious person but sometimes I can’t help but worry that I’ve jinxed myself by spilling potential good news too early or revealing too much of my plans. Needless to say when this happens I find myself constantly checking over my shoulder for that proverbial black cat.
I have found a great website, www.couturious.com, that is my newest addicition and I highly recommend anyone who loves to play dress up check it out. Below is the first of many outfits I’m sure I will be creating…if only I could afford to buy these amazing pieces (and had the body to pull them off).
The beautiful weather we had this past weekend got me thinking about how much I miss my bike. When I was still in University I would bike to and from class and go out on weekends to explore the yuppy neibourhoods near by. Where I’m living now is nice and close to a great bike trail that runs between Kitchener and Waterloo and I’ve been thinking it would be nice to get a new bike.
On Sunday Adam and I were out walking in Uptown Waterloo when I came across the prettiest bike. Now I’m really itching to buy one and get out there to start enjoying this weather. But….the problem is I know nothing about bikes as I’m sure you can tell since I selected one purely based on appearance. Can anyone out there offer some suggestions…should I just buy a cheapy bike or should I invest a bit more money?
This is similiar to the bike I saw this weekend….what do we think???
After reading Idee Geniale’s blog post yesterday I went to the TOMS website to learn more about their products and their philosophy. I can only hope that their “One for One” movement will spread like wildfire. After reading and checking out their shoes online I had no choice but to run out today and buy a pair of TOMS from Heelboy in Waterloo Town Square.
These shoes are super cute and super comfortable, so I suggest everyone pick up a pair. Your feet will thank you, plus you’re supporting a wonderful program.
On this rainy evening I decided to take in a movie with my beau, Adam. We opted for How to Train Your Dragon in 3D as we both have a penchant for kids movies. It was adorable, I highly recommend it!!
This weekend my sister and niece came to visit. We really didn’t do anything too exciting but it was a great visit and I just wanted to post a few pictures so you can see how absolutely adorable my niece is.
My niece, Sophia, found where I keep all my accesories so here we have my sister and niece modeling a few of the found treasures.
I believe that Sophia was more excited to come and visit Gibson the cat than Aunt Sara and Uncle Adam.
